I'M THE KEEPER JUST 10 MONTHS LEFT.
DEFINITELY UNDERSTOOD THAT YOU ARE, YOU WOULD NEVER SAY ANYTHING WRONG ANYWAY, SO THAT'S WONDERFUL.
SO, UH, DID I SAY CALL THE MEETING DAUGHTER? SO, UH, HOW ABOUT ROLL CALL SUSIE? DO YOU HAVE A, THIS ALL SPECIALIST CROWD JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT THAT'S AN IPAD.

IN DECLARATIONS OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST THAT NEED TO BE BROUGHT FORWARD.[6. Monthly Report - Diane Rath A. Staffing Updates B. Program Status and Operational Updates Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) Alamo Regional Transit (ART) External Affairs & Communications Intellectual & Developmental Disability Services (IDDS) Military and Veterans Affairs Natural Resources Public Safety Regional Services Environmental Conservation Weatherization Assistance Program C. Organizational Updates Building Update General Administration Policy Review Chief Financial Officer General Counsel]
THAT MOVES US TO OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS MONTHLY REPORT.MS. RAY, GOOD MORNING, MR. CHAIRMAN AND MEMBERS.
I HAVE TO SAY IT'S WONDERFUL TO SEE A GROUP CALL AND TO SEE EVERYONE HERE AGAIN, WE CAN'T TELL YOU HOW MUCH WE ENJOY HAVING IT.
I WANT YOU TO WHO IS OUR COORDINATOR WHO ASSESSES VETERANS AT WORK? WHAT IS A WORD OF THE JACQUELINE SMITH FOUNDATION SMITH? WE SERVE SUPPORT WORK IN SUPPORTIVE VETERANS.
[00:05:07]
AS YOU ALL KNOW, WE RECEIVED OUR FIRST GRANT FROM, UH, FOUR YEARS AGO.WE GOT OUR SECOND GRANT, UM, FROM WHEN ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE PURPOSE AND ALL THE WAY OVER TO THE RIGHT.
SO HE'S DONE A GREAT JOB THAT LEADERSHIP REALLY BLOW THE LID OFF ALL OF OUR PARTNERS IN THAT.
UM, TODAY THE ITEMS GOING OUT FOR ADDITIONAL VENDORS FOR OUR PROVIDERS FOR AGING HOME HEALTH AGENCIES, WIDE RANGE OF THINGS REALLY HAVE CLIENTS CAPACITY.
, UH, NOBODY, UH, THE T HAT PROGRAM, WHICH IS THE MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE.
IT HAS BEEN EXTENDED MAY 31ST.
THE MAN IS NOT AS BRIGHT AS I WAS ANTICIPATED.
SO IT DOES PROVIDE MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE FOR THOSE WHO REALLY NEED ASSISTANCE, PARTICULARLY THE WORLD COMMUNITIES LOST MONSTER CAMPAIGN, BUT HE KNOWS SOMEONE THAT IS MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE, PLEASE.
HE HAPPENED TO BE ABLE TO HELP THEM CLOSE THAT GAP AND BE MORE SEVERE.
WE RECEIVED OUR SIX NEW VEHICLES.
IT JUST YESTERDAY, WE GOT TWO WORSE AND NOW WE HAVE EIGHT VEHICLES.
, UH, WE'RE REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT AS WE HAVE OUR TROLLEY, OUR TROLLEY.
RIGHT? SO WHEN YOU ALL HAVE SPECIALTY MEDS, WHEN YOU HAVE FESTIVALS WHERE YOU'RE HAVING TO PRAY, WHEN YOU HAD ANYTHING WORSE TO SHARE WITH PEOPLE, I KNOW WE'RE TALKING TO YOU TODAY, ARE THAT EASY TO CAST, UH, TROLLEYS EARS.
SO WE WANT US TO BE ABLE TO MAKE IT AVAILABLE.
UM, SO THEN, UH, WE ALSO HAVE FIND THE A FOUR, THREE DRIVERS SPECIFICALLY FOR HER DRIVERS IN HER COUNTY.
ONE THING I WANT TO MAKE YOU AWARE OF THAT WE'RE VERY EXCITED ABOUT.
AND CAUTIOUSLY OPTIMISTIC PROFESSOR IS I WAS APPROACHED BY SECRETARY CISNEROS ABOUT NEEDING TO HAVE SCHEDULED TRANSIT BETWEEN AUSTIN AND SAN ANTONIO, AS WE ALL KNOW, AND TO HAVE THE SEVENTH LARGEST CITY AND THE 11TH LARGEST CITY, AUSTIN CITY WITH NO TRAINING, AT LEAST.
SO I HAVE TO REALLY RECOGNIZE OUR PARTNERS.
SO WE WORK WITH OUR ART COUNTERPART AND AUSTIN PARK WITH OUR MEDIA AND AND WITH BOTH.
SO WITH CAMPO AND WITH AML, AND IT TRULY IS A REGIONAL SOLUTION AS WE ALL CAME TOGETHER AND THE TWO OPERATIONAL FOCUS WOULD BE OUR ART CART.
UM, WHEN WE HAVE SCHEDULED TO RUN TWO TRIPS A DAY BETWEEN BOSTON EXAM OR, UM, ARE ALREADY OPERATES TO THE UNIVERSITY THERE AND IT'S STOPPING ENDED WAFFLES, AND WE REALLY COLLABORATED WITH, AND WE REALLY WANT TO GO THE WEST SIDE.
SO WE'RE LOOKING AT VISITORS 35, BUT THERE'S A, IS, WAS THERE.
SO, UM, THE VISITOR CENTER ACROSS THE CONVENTION CENTER, WHICH HAS ALL THE AMENITIES, BATHROOMS, PARKING, EVERYTHING, THEY WOULD BE CONNECTED TO THE RANDOLPH PARK RIDE HERE.
IS IT BOTH OF THOSE TWO SCISSORS? THEY CONNECT TO A WIDE RANGE OF ADDITIONAL, UH, UH, SCHEDULED BUS ROUTES.
SO THAT WAS IN ONE OF THE PROPOSALS THAT YOU ALL MOVED LAST MONTH, OR SO IT IS AT TEXTILE, YOUR CONSIDERATION FOR FUNDING, WE'RE ASKING FOR A TWO YEAR, UM, DEMONSTRATION GRANT.
AND THEN ONCE, IF IT PROVES THAT THE DEMAND IS THERE, AND I'M A BIG BELIEVER THAT YOU DIDN'T HAVE US FOR A REASON, SOMETIMES THEY WORK.
SO WE WOULD SEE ONGOING PLENTY FOR BOTH UPS, CAUSE IT IS A CATEGORY SENTENCE.
UH, IT'S BEEN PRESENTED TO SEVERAL, UH, INTO TEAS NOW AND I WANT IT TO GO YELLOW PART ABOUT IT.
AND I WANTED TO LEARN JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE INFORMATION.
[00:10:01]
SO I KNOW SAM , WE'LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS.UM, WE ALSO, UH, WE ARE AND HERE MORE AND THEY'LL SEE IT AS REALLY THE RURAL COUNTIES WHERE, UH, OTHER MIGUEL'S LEADERSHIP WE'RE PARTNERING WITH FOOD DAY TO REALLY, UH, PARTICIPATE.
THERE'S YOUR CAMPAIGNS LOOKING AT FOOD IT'S HERE.
YOU WANT TO HELP SERVICES AND REALLY WORKING WITH THE COMMUNITY LEADERS TRYING TO FIND NEEDS WAS MORE COUNTY.
LIKE I WOULDN'T BEGIN FOR YOU.
AND MORE SO YOU ALWAYS NEED THAT INFORMATION WHEN IT'S ADDITIONAL COUNTIES, AS IT GOES.
UH, IDE I HEARD HE WAS SELECTED AS THE LOCATION FOR THE STAR PILOT.
UH, IT'S SUPPOSED TO START IN SEPTEMBER, UM, THAT DRAFT OR HE WAS RELEASED A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO.
UM, WE CERTAINLY, JACOB WAS REALLY SPENDING A LONG TIME WITH, UH, POSSIBLE, UH, CONFERENCES THAT ARE LOOKING AT RESPONDING.
SO IT WILL CERTAINLY CHANGE THINGS.
AND, UM, WE'RE, WE'RE VERY HOPEFUL ABOUT IT, AS YOU ALL KNOW, THAT'S WHY WE'RE BEING TORE FOR CERTIFICATION AND ACCREDITATION OF OUR CASE MANAGERS IS TRULY BE BETTER PREPARED FOR THAT.
A LARGE IS DEVELOPMENTAL THIS, UH, AND SO WE ARE HAVING, UM, UH, MARCH 2ND, IT IS A FAMILY NIGHT AT CHICK, UH, TSA.
SO I THINK IT'S OPPORTUNITY WITH TIMELINE.
WE KNOW THAT OUR, OUR, UH, EMAIL ANNOUNCING IT, THAT WE WERE SELECTED OR OUR REGION, OUR APPLICATION, AND DESIGNATED AS US AND THE LANDSCAPE.
IT'S NOT TEMPTED IN THE COUNTRY TO OTHER WORDS, FLORIDA, GEORGIA ALSO ACCOUNTS.
SO IT'S A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO BRING ADDITIONAL FUNDING.
PRIVATE LANDOWNERS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR, TO REALLY HELP, UH, PRESERVE THE AREA AROUND THE HANDFULS, PRESERVE THOSE MISSIONS.
SO WE'RE VERY EXCITED ABOUT IT, AND I REALLY HAVE TO APPRECIATE ALL OUR PARTNERS, GREAT PARTNERS.
SO THE COLLABORATION IS VERY SECRET.
SO IT A BIG DEAL WE'RE MOVING FORWARD WITH OUR DIAG AND SOLIDIFYING THOSE ACCESS STATIONS.
IT SHOULD BE FINISHED BY THE END OF MARCH IS WHERE WE'LL BE VETERANS DIRECTED HERE, WHICH MAYBE YOU IS A PROGRAM THAT WE DO WITH THE VA.
AND WE FUNCTION AS CASE MANAGERS ON YOUR CASES.
AND RIGHT NOW WE HAVE JUST OVER 400.
THE GOAL OF THAT PROGRAM IS TO ENABLE BETTER.
IT'S JUST NOT A NATURAL RESOURCES.
HAVING NEW SOUTH TEXAS ELECTRIC VEHICLE READINESS WEBINAR ON THURSDAY IS TOMORROW, TOMORROW, THE 25TH.
AND IT'S ALSO GOING TO HAVE AN ALTERNATIVE FUEL VEHICLE INSPIRATION MARCH 31ST HERE AT A PACE THAT WE CAN MOVE SUCH THINGS ON.
AND WE ARE AN ALLY OF HEIGHTS IS ALSO EXPRESSED INTEREST IN DOCKING PACE AT THE AIRPORT, A TEAM INTO AND THEY'RE CONSIDERING IT, UM, EVERY 28 MINUTES, HOPEFULLY WE'LL BE CONSIDERING FOR ADOPTION ON MARCH 14TH, UM, UH, PUBLIC SAFETY CONTINUING WITH THIS CLASS AFTER TWO DEBTS UPPER-CLASS WOULD YOU HAVE REALLY GOOD INTEREST IN OUR NINE CLASS? AND WE HAVE PART-TIME NIGHT CLASS THAT IS SCHEDULED TO START AT A COUPLE OF MONTHS AND INTEREST IN OUR NEXT CLASS.
WE HAVE HEARD PEOPLE FOR FLORIDA PASSED THE EXAMINATION THAT SHOULD START IN AUGUST.
SO I THINK IN THIS ENVIRONMENT, IT SAYS SO MUCH ABOUT OUR ACADEMY AND CADETS, UM, THAT IN THIS ENVIRONMENT WITH REALLY STRONG PROGRAM, I WILL SAY WE ASSIGN APPLICATIONS, UH, IN THE LAST ROUND THAT YOU HEARD OUT THERE, AND THOSE DID NOT GET THEIR APPLICATIONS TO THE GOVERNOR SYSTEM TIMELY.
SO WE HAD APPLICATIONS THAT HAD THEIR PROGRAM.
[00:15:01]
THEY DIDN'T GET IT SUBMITTED, WANT THE DEADLINE, SOMETIMES , THERE'S AND SCHEDULING.THERE ARE WORKSHOPS OR PLANNING AND ZONING AND BROWNFIELDS AND THE REST OF THEM.
UH, HE ALSO HAS A PRESENTATION THROUGHOUT THE DAY, BUT THERE, AS YOU ALL KNOW, THERE'S SO MUCH, I KNOW THAT, UM, JEREMY TEAL AND I WERE AT MAR AND IT'S JUST, IT'S UNBELIEVABLE.
WE HAVE, MOST OF IT IS CONTINGENT ON THE APPROPRIATION STUFF.
SO I DO PUT A CAVEAT OUT THERE.
UM, IT'S NOT ADVANCED OUR FLOOR AND THAT WAS ALL IN OUR COMMUNITIES TO MAKE SURE PEOPLE ARE AWARE OF THE OPPORTUNITIES AND WE'LL HELP YOU UNDERSTAND HOW WE CAN USE OUR WEATHERIZATION.
I HAVE TO SAY, OUR STAFF HAS WORKED VERY HARD TO MAINTAIN YOUR CERTIFICATION.
UH, AND WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE CPR, UM, WE HIT ALL OF OUR GOALS EXCEPT ONE ON OUR COST PER HOUSE, BUT WE'RE VERY HELPFUL WITH OUR HALF IS A LITTLE OVER $8,000.
THE NEW CONTRACT MASTERY HAS A CAP OF A LOT OF THOUSAND DOLLARS.
SO CLEAR THEY'RE RECOGNIZING HOW THEY WILL LOOK AT WITH KIND OF EYES.
UM, AND AS YOU KNOW, WHAT READS WE PURCHASED THIS BUILDING, WE HAD CONTRACTOR OR BUILDING MANAGEMENT AND WE, UH, LAST MONTH WE WERE ABLE TO GET CONTRACT INTO THIS LAB.
I THINK OUR STAFF IS FULLY PREPARED TO GIVE THOSE POSSIBILITIES MAYBE SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE CONTRACT OUT AGAIN.
BUT RIGHT NOW WE DID NOT SEE THAT DOWN FROM THAT TIME.
IT'S LIKE WE WOULD, THEY WERE JUST SORT OF COPIED .
SO I THINK WE'VE ASKED SOME OF THOSE QUESTIONS.
JUST ONE QUESTION, JUDGE, YOU HAVE A QUESTION, UM, THE FAMILY NIGHT, HOW ARE YOU OUR, ARE WE ADVERTISING THAT TO THOSE THAT THAT'S REALLY, THAT WOULD REALLY HELP.
AND I'LL LET JACOB FOLLOW WITH YOU MORE CLOSELY ON SOCIAL MEDIA, FACEBOOK, TWITTER, A LOT PATIENT DIRECTLY IMPACTED INDIVIDUALS AND THOSE YEAH, NO, WE INTERACT PERSONALLY AND DIRECTLY.
[ Consent Agenda The consent agenda consists of items considered being of a routine nature and contains items recommended for approval by the Executive Committee or by the Board Chair and the minutes from previous Board of Directors meetings. These items will be enacted in one motion, or any member of the Board may request that items be removed from the consent agenda and considered separately for purposes of discussion and voting.]
YOU, MS. WRATH, UM, BRINGS US TO THE CONSENT AGENDA ITEM NUMBER 11, UH, CONSIDER AN ACT UPON THE RECOMMENDATION TO APPROVE THE JANUARY 26TH, 2022 BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING MINUTES AND, UH, CONSIDER AND ACT UPON THE RECOMMENDATION TO APPROVE THE FINANCIAL SUMMARY.CPR I'LL MAKE THE MOTION TO APPROVE MOTION BY JUDGE SHEWHART SECOND BY JUDGE EVANS.
ANY DISCUSSION HEARING NONE ALL IN FAVOR, ANY OPPOSED
[10. Titan Complex Financial and Occupancy Update. - Jenise Diaz]
MOTION CARRIES.OUR NEW BUSINESS, WE GOT A, GOT THE TIGHTENED COMPLEX FINANCIAL AND OCCUPANCY UPDATE.
MS. DIS AND MR. HARPER, JUST IN CASE THERE'S ANY HISTORICAL REPORT.
THIS IS AN UPDATE ON THE ENTIRE COMPLEX.
WE'VE ALREADY STARTED THE DIMENSION THAT THIS IS CORRECT INFORMATION.
AND THE FINANCIAL IS BASED ON THE STORE INFORMATION FOR THE LAST NINE MONTHS.
WE OCCUPIED BEFORE WE CURRENTLY HAVE EIGHT TENANTS OCCUPYING ALMOST 21,000 THAT CLIFF TALKING ABOUT HISTORICAL INFORMATION TOLD ME THAT WE WOULD ACTUALLY HAVE 11 TENANTS, BUT WE LEFT BECAUSE OF PREVIOUS
[00:20:01]
OWNER.CAN YOU SPEAK INTO THE MIC ON US? WE CAN'T HEAR YOU BRING IT A LOT CLOSER.
THE OCCUPANCY TOTAL PLAZAS WERE EIGHT 28,000.
WE HAVE ONE TENANT ABC, WHICH IS 8,000.
SO THE TOTAL AVAILABLE IN THE PLAZA IS 9,000.
CAPEX IS ALMOST 40,000, A TOTAL TYPE OF COMPLEX, AND THEN 33,000 PAY TALK OFF MY 65,000 LEASE 68,000 TENANT OCCUPIED 28,000 REMAINING, ALMOST TEDIOUS.
SO THE TENANT OCCUPANCY BREAK EVEN IS 90%.
I KNOW THAT SOUNDS A LITTLE HIGH.
SO I WANT TO GIVE YOU A LITTLE BIT OF COLOR AS TO HOW THAT WAS CALCULATED.
SO SPREAD IT OVER THREE TO SEVEN YEARS, IT DOES INCLUDE ABOUT 2 MILLION IN CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS.
AND IT ALSO INCLUDES A 3% INCREASE ON EXPENSES THAT ARE TURNING OUT DIRECT EXPENSES, CUT IT OUT.
AND THEY DID 2% RENT INCREASE.
OF COURSE IT LOOKS VERY HIGH BASED UPON THE 2 MILLION.
SO IF WE WERE TO BACK THAT OUT, READY, THAT OCCUPANCY DUTY POSTED NEAR 86% NEXT MONTH.
SO LIKE I SAID, THIS IS HORRIBLE.
NINE MONTHS, AVERAGE MONTH RENT REVENUE, 108,000 COSTS.
NET INCOME OR RATHER LOSS WAS THAT 60, 60,000 AFTER THE TERMINATION OF THE CONTRACT THAT I HAD MENTIONED PREVIOUSLY, WE'LL REDUCE THAT LOSS TO THAT 7.5.
SO WE HAD A TOTAL NET LOSS WHEN YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT THE AVERAGE MONTHLY RENT REVENUE, IS THAT JUST FROM TENANTS ONLY, NOT INCLUDING WHAT AYCOCK WOULD HAVE, YOU'RE NOT CHARGING AN ACRE.
IT DOESN'T INCLUDE JUST TENANTS.
IT MAKES IT LOOK A LOT BETTER THAN WHEN YOU DO IT THAT WAY.
SO, UM, THE TOTAL THAT BOSS HAS A JANUARY COMPARISON TO MARRIOTT TO DESARRO.
WE HAD, UH, YOUR SORROW BRANCH WAS A 4,000 HOUR TYPE PROGRAM OCCUPANCY.
THAT'S WHAT WE WERE ABLE TO CHARGE THE PROGRAMS INSTEAD OF THE, ALSO THE 4,000.
SO WE HAVE AN AVERAGE MONTHLY SAVINGS PROGRAMS OF ALMOST $11,000 THAT ALSO WILL CHANGE BASED ON THE TERMINATION OF THE CONTRACT.
IT WILL INCREASE THAT SAVINGS TO 13,000 A MONTH.
WE HAVE A COST TO DATE AT THE MERGER HAIRS, AND THIS WAS THOSE REPAIRED BY THE BIGGEST OWNER OF 101,000.
OH, THAT DOES INCLUDE THE BIGGEST ONES ARE THE ELEVATORS CHEMOURS.
AND SOME OF THAT NUMBER ONE IMPORTANT THING I DID WANT TO TRY NOW IS THAT WE HAVE A ACTIVATORS BUILDING ALMOST $200,000.
SO WHY THIS ALL LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE THAT ON THE PREVIOUS SLIDES, ACCORDING TO LAWSUITS SETTLED, THE LAWSUIT IS IN IT'S.
AS SOME OF YOU MAY KNOW, OR CALL, WE HAD FILED A LAWSUIT AGAINST THE SELLER OF A BUILDING.
UM, THERE WERE LITERALLY ON THE DAY OF CLOSING, THE SHELTERS FAIL, BOTH CHOSE FAILED, AND THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY $20,000 OF EXPENSES.
THERE, THERE WERE A LOT OF REPAIRS THAT OUR PARKING LOT DAMAGE THAT OCCURRED DURING THE THREE DRIVERS PENDING.
AND, UM, SO HE NEVER MADE THOSE REPAIRS ALONG THE STORE UP.
THERE'S SEVERAL HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS THAT WE HOPE.
UM, WELL, I SHOULDN'T SAY SEVERAL HUNDRED, AT LEAST A HUNDRED OR 150,000 THAT WE HOPE TO RECOUP FROM THE, UM,
[00:25:01]
FROM THE SELLER.BUT TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION VERY EARLY STAGES OF THE LAWSUIT.
SO DISCOVERY HAS JUST BEGUN AND, UM, THERE WERE NO TRIALS.
UM, OH MAN, I NEED TO GO TO THE NEXT SLIDE, MAN.
I JUST, FOR THE BOARD, I WANTED TO DO THAT FOR INSTANCE, THE, UH, PRIOR TO NO, AS JIMMY STARTED OUT AT A PART OF PRIOR RENT, SOAR WAS 84,000.
OUR CURRENT NOTE PAYMENT NOW ON THE PROPERTY IS 61,000.
SO THERE'S ONLY 23,000 TO THE GOOD THERE.
AND ALSO IN SOME OF THESE EXPENSES, WE HAVE A LOT OF ONE-TIME EXPENSES.
FOR INSTANCE, I THINK THERE WAS A 45 OR $50,000 DEPOSIT FOR CPS AND ONE FOR SONGS.
AND SO THERE'S ONE TIME EXPENSES THERE THAT WON'T, WE WON'T SEE IN THE FUTURE.
SO , SO WE DID CHOOSE IMPACT FACILITIES MANAGEMENT AS A CROWD-BASED SCHOOL WHERE I CAN ORDER FROM THE TENANTS OR A POD AS WELL.
AND JOE, AS I HAD MENTIONED EARLIER IS AMAZING.
HE IS OUR MAINTENANCE ENGINEER, ALL OF THAT.
AND THE OVERSIGHT WILL BE DEBBIE BUILDING RIGHT NOW.
SO THE BOND FINANCIAL PARTS OF IT, IT'S PICTURES, MISSING OPPORTUNITIES, REAL ESTATE AGENTS.
AND OF COURSE THEY'RE NOT AS THE FINANCIAL PART OF THAT ATTENDANCE.
UM, THEY, THEIR PAYMENTS AND THINGS LIKE THAT WILL BE, I WOULD SAY THAT, UH, I THINK JUST AS WE WERE FINALIZING, THIS DEAL IS WHEN COVID HIT, AS YOU ALL REMEMBER, THE LEASING AGENTS WERE VERY OPTIMISTIC ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITIES TO LEASE SPACES WHEN WE NEGOTIATED THE LEASE AND CONTINUED TO BE VERY OPTIMISTIC.
ONCE THINGS RETURNED TO A MORE NEAR NORMAL IN THE FUTURE WITH LACEY, WITH EVERYONE WORKING FROM HOME, WE HAVE NOT HAD THAT.
IN FACT, I HEARD LAST WEEK THAT 50% OF IS EMPTY.
UH, SO I THINK AS, AS WE STABILIZE AND MOVE FORWARD, WE'RE VERY EXCITED ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITIES AND, AND THE REAL ESTATE BROKERS CONTINUE TO BE VERY POSITIVE ABOUT THE VERY RARE RESOURCE WE HAVE WITH BEING INSIDE FOUR 10 WITH ADEQUATE, UH, PARKING.
IF I MAY, AFTER THAT, IF YOU WILL RECALL, WE PURCHASED PLAUSIBILITY ROUGHLY MILLION AND A HALF DOLLARS.
I'VE FORGOTTEN THE EXACT AMOUNT, BUT IT WASN'T DEAN THEN OF COURSE, LESS THAN 9,200 SQUARE FEET.
BUT ONCE THAT BUILDING IS FULLY LEASHED UP, THE, UH, THE LEASING AGENTS ESTIMATE THE VALUE OF THAT BUILDING IS $5.5 MILLION LONG TERM TENANTS TENANTS.
SO YOU'RE SEEING A HUGE RETURN ON INVESTMENT ON THAT BUILDING AS IT LEASES UP.
UM, AND ONCE WE GET THIS BUILDING LEASED OUT OUR $12 MILLION PURCHASE THAT THE VALUE WILL INCREASE.
AND SO I KNOW THAT THERE'S STILL PAIN GOING FORWARD AND WE ANTICIPATE TURN ON INVESTMENT WILL BE WELL-ROUNDED.
ONE WOULD THINK THAT THE, UH, THE BUILDING MARKET IS KIND OF IN A SLUMP, BUT THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER IS IT IS NOT IN A SLOT.
AND IT IS SOME STUFF THAT I READ A FEW WEEKS AGO AT THE HOUSING FORECAST SHOW THAT, UH, OFFICE SPACE IS CONTINUING TO GET FILLED UP AROUND THE RAMP.
SECOND THING, MR. HERBERT, AND I KNOW THAT SHE WILL LOVE THIS QUESTION.
UM, CHEF J COG AS A GOVERNMENT ENTITY, JUST ABOUT THE DEPOSITS FOR SOLVES AND SHEEP DS AND WANDERING.
AND I DON'T WANT TO SEE FISH TO JUMP OUT OF THEIR CHAIR, BUT I WONDER IF THE CITY OF SAN ANTONIO, WHEN THEY OPEN A BUILDING OR HAVE TO DO THAT BECAUSE I HAD TO HAVE TO PUT A DEPOSIT DOWN THE ANSWER THAT THEY DO.
UM, I WAS GOING TO ASK THE QUESTION, DO YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN
[00:30:01]
GET IT REFUNDED AFTER A YEAR OF GOOD HISTORY? OKAY.IT GETS REFUNDED TO THE CUSTOMER UPON GOOD HISTORY.
I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE MR. HERBERT, WE ACTUALLY SAW THE WEIGHT BOOK AND EVERYBODY PAYS IT UPON IT.
SO WE GET IT BACK AT EIGHT YEARS.
WE WERE A NEW OWNER BY THE WAY, HAPPENED, AT LEAST FOR 40 OR 50 YEARS QUESTION SAY 50 YEARS.
AND SO IF WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY KIND OF TRACK RECORD ESTABLISHED, SO THEY WEREN'T REQUIRING DEPOSITS, YOU MIGHT ALSO EXPLAIN HOW THE PROPERTY TAX WORKS.
OH, WELL, TOOK HIM FOREVER TO GET THIS WORD, OUR TAX EXEMPT AS A GOVERNMENT ENTITY.
BUT NOW SO FAR, UM, FROM ECAT IS, IT FEELS LIKE THEY GIVE US A TOTAL EXEMPTION, BUT RIGHT.
BUT MY UNDERSTANDING OF THE LAW IS THAT TO THE EXTENT THAT WE ACT AS A PRIVATE ENTERPRISE, MEANING LEAST THE THIRD PARTIES, WE WILL OWE TAX ON THAT PORTION OF THE BUILDING AT LEAST, OR PARTIES.
BUT THEY'RE VERY SLOW IN RESPONDING RIGHT NOW.
I KNOW IT'S, EVERYBODY'S I GUESS, WORKING REMOTELY FROM HOME AND THAT'S WHAT THERE IS ALLEGEDLY, THEY CALL THEM IN THE LEG.
AND SO I DON'T KNOW EXACTLY WHERE WE'RE GOING ON THAT ON A FINAL ASSESSMENT, BUT SO FAR THE INQUIRY, I MEAN, YOU SAID YOUR TAX EXEMPTION STATUS HAS BEEN GRANTED.
IT SAID FULLY, THEY DIDN'T SAY WHAT, BUT I'M TAKING THAT AS A WIN AND I'M IT.
BUT MY UNDERSTANDING OF ALL IS THAT WE'RE RESPONSIBLE TO THE EXTENT THAT WE ACT AS IF IT'S A LANDLORD YOU HAD MENTIONED, THE ONLY TENANT IS ABC.
WHAT IS THAT? WHO ARE THEY IN THE PLAZA? YOU HAD MENTIONED, HER ONLY TENANT IS ABC.
CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THAT ORGANIZATION? WHO ARE THEY? THAT'S THE INTENT IS IN THE POSSIBILITY, AND WE HAVE MULTIPLE TENANTS HERE, BUT IN THE POSSIBILITY, AND WE JUST RECENTLY RELEASED THE ABC, WHICH IS ACTION BEHAVIOR CENTER, WHICH PROVIDES TRAINING AND THERAPY, THEY'RE AUTISTIC INDIVIDUALS.
THEY STARTED NEARLY 77, 70 OUT HUNDRED AND SEVEN SQUARE FEET IF MY MEMORY SERVES.
AND SO THEY JUST FINISHED OFF THEIR BUILDING BUILD OUT.
I THINK WE SHOULD HAVE MENTIONED THAT THEY JUST FINISHED THEIR BUILD OUT.
THAT FACILITY IS REALLY VERY, VERY NICE.
AND THEN SHE WILL CALL DOWN THE SEVEN YEAR LEASE THERE.
WE DO HAVE TO REIMBURSE THEM FOR THEIR TENANT IMPROVEMENTS AS PER OUR AGREEMENT, BUT CALL THE LIFE OF AT LEAKS THAT WOULD RETURN ABOUT 500,000 TO EIGHT OVER AND ABOVE.
WHAT'S GOING TO BE PAID ON THE POSITIVE YOU DIVIDED THAT TOTAL SAY.
AND SO THAT SEVEN YEAR RANGE, ROUGHLY 25% EACH LOSS.
UM, ONE OF, ONE OF THE QUESTIONS I HAD IS AS YOU TOO, WHEN, WHENEVER, UH, WHENEVER YOU EXPLAINED THE DEPOSITS AND STUFF, DENISE, YOU SAID THAT'S PARTIALLY CORRECT.
UH, THERE AREN'T, THIS DOESN'T INCLUDE CAPITAL EXPENDITURES OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT ON THE MILL BUILDING IN THE AVERAGE COST OF OWNING THE BUILDING.
UH, SO THOSE ARE ACTUALLY ACTUAL AVERAGE MONTHLY COSTS, EXCEPT FOR, LIKE I SAY, THOSE ONE TIME DEPOSITS THAT ARE IN THERE, REPAIRS THAT WE HAVE, AND TO THE EXTENT THAT WE'RE WORKING ON THE ELEVATORS, AND THAT'D BE THE NEXT SIDE TALKING ABOUT REPAIR AND CATEGORIZES REPAIR, BUT SOME OF THEM ARE GOING TO END UP TRANSITIONING TO SOME LONG-TERM CLIENTS.
[11. Consider and act upon the recommendation to authorize the Executive Director to release a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the modernization of the elevators at the Titan Building. – Cliff Herberg]
WELL, THAT WAS INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES.AND THAT MOVES US TO ITEM NUMBER 11, CONSIDER AND ACT UPON THE RECOMMENDATION TO AUTHORIZE THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, TO RELEASE A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR THE MODERNIZATION OF THE ELEVATORS AT THE TITAN BUILDING MR. HARBURG.
WELL, SPEAKING OF SPENDING MONEY, UM, AS YOU KNOW, OUR ELEVATORS ARE BEYOND THEIR SERVICE LINE, THEIR ORIGINAL BUILDING, APPROXIMATELY 37 YEARS OLD, HER TAKE.
AND, UM, WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED BY THE STATE THAT THEY ARE NOT INCLINED TO LET THEM PASS INSPECTION AGAIN, WRESTLING WITH THE PRIOR ARM, MR. BARRETT, FOR SEVERAL YEARS, TRYING TO GET HIM TO BRING THE ELEVATORS UP TO CODE AND HE REFUSED TO DO IT.
AND SO I THINK THEY'RE LOOKING AT US AND US TO BE RESPONSIBLE AND THEY'RE TRYING TO PUT THE, THE, UH, HAMMER ON US TO GET THEM UP TO CODE.
[00:35:01]
AND THE ELEVATORS ARE ASIDE FROM HAVING, UH, UM, THE BIRD MAINTENANCE ISSUES.YOU KNOW, THE I'M TRYING TO GET AN EXAMPLE OF QUALITY OR THE KIND OF SITUATION I IN THE ELEVATORS, I'M LEARNING A LOT ABOUT ELEVATORS.
I NEVER KNEW ELEVATORS HAD LOTS OF MONEY.
SO DOZENS AND DOZENS OF WHEELINGS AND OUR ELEVATOR RAMP WILL TAKE PICTURES OF WHEN HE PULLS OUT ONE OF THE RELAYS THEY'RE SO OLD THAT THEY JUST LET IT CRUMBLE HIS HANDS, WRAPPING INSULATION AROUND THE BARN AND JUST CRUMBLES.
SO THIS IS NOT A SITUATION WHERE WE CAN, WHAT ARE YOU TRYING? JUST MAKE THE NECESSARY SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS.
HE JUST SHAKES HIS HEAD AND SAYS, IT'S NOT FEASIBLE TO REALLY FIND A PARAMEDIC THE TIME OR MODERNIZE THEM.
AND SO THAT'S WHAT THIS ITEM IS FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION.
TODAY, WE WOULD LIKE TO ISSUE QUEST FOR PROPOSAL TO HAVE THE ELEVATORS MODERNIZED THAT DOES NOT INCLUDE INTERIOR.
REFURBISHMENTS IT'S IS REALLY RESTRUCTURE THE ELEVATORS OVERS HOLDINGS AND THE BRIGHT HEAT SYSTEMS AND ADDING THE NEW URGENCY CODE UPGRADES ARE BUILDING COACH UPGRADES THAT ARE REQUIRED PARTYING EMERGENCIES.
ONE OF THE THINGS THEY ALL THE WAY SLACK, I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT.
YOU ALWAYS SEE IT IN THE MOVIES IN AN ELEVATOR FALLS AND SOMEBODY DIES WHAT THEY ARE NOW, BUT OUR ELEVATORS LACK THAT THEY CALL CABLE RIPPERS OR ROAD PREPPERS.
SO THAT AS YOU MAY KNOW, ELEVATORS HAVE COUNTERWEIGHTS COUNTERWEIGHT HEAVIER THAN THE ELEVATION SO THAT WHEN THOSE COUNTERWEIGHTS FALL, THEY PULL THE CAP UP THE OLD CAP IN THE TOP OF THE BUILDING THAT WAY.
AND SO THEY'LL HAVE THESE ROTORS.
SO THAT'S PART OF THE MODERNIZATION PROXIMATE COSTS WE ANTICIPATE IS FOUR TO $600,000.
UM, THIS IS JUST FOR REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL.
OF COURSE, WE WILL BRING BACK THE SCORING AND THE EVALUATION OF THE PROPOSALS, FINAL REVIEWS AND APPROVAL.
ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE WILL HAVE TO CONSIDER IS WHETHER OR NOT WE WANT TO PAY FOR A NON-PROPRIETARY EQUIPMENT OR PROPRIETARY EQUIPMENT.
AND AS WE LEARNED, AS I HAVE HEARD FROM OUR, OUR, UM, ELEVATOR CONTRACTOR SAYS A LOT OF THE COMPANIES, THE BIG NAMES THAT WERE PROMOTED WITH BOVIS OR THOSE CHAMBER, THOSE BIG NAMES, THEY WILL ALMOST GIVE YOU THE EQUIVALENT SO THAT THEY DIDN'T GET ONSITE.
AND THEN YOU'RE AT THEIR MERCY FOR THE NEXT 30 YEARS.
I'M GOING TO OFFER YOU SOME ELEVATOR GUIDANCE.
I RUN, I'M RESPONSIBLE FOR FACILITIES AT CPS ENERGY, BABY, YOU DO, YOU NEED TO GET A, YOU NEED TO GET A MAINTENANCE AND PURCHASE PARALLEL PROJECT HERE, ELEVATORS OR SATAN, AS YOU'VE DISCOVERED.
AND YOU NEED TO HAVE A STRUCTURE IN YOUR CONTRACT WHERE WHOEVER'S INSTALLING IS RESPONSIBLE, OR YOU'VE GOT A STRUCTURE FOR IT.
AND PROPRIETARY LOCKS YOU INTO SOMEBODY.
SO YOU JUST, IT HAS TO BE LOOKED AT IN AN ENTIRE PACKAGE AND BUDGET WISE, YOU'VE GOT TO PLAN FOR THE MAINTENANCE.
YOU'RE CALLING SOMEBODY FOR ELEVATORS ALL THE TIME, EVEN IF YOU GET BRAND NEW ONES.
SO JUST BE REALLY COGNIZANT OF THE EXPENSE.
YOU'RE ABOUT TO THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
I'M HAPPY TO PUT YOU IN TOUCH WITH SOMEBODY WHO KNOWS A LOT MORE ABOUT IT, BUT ELEVATORS ARE LINER.
I'LL BE HAPPY TO CONNECT YOU WITH OUR FACILITIES TEAM.
WE, UH, WE HAVE A VERY GOOD CONTRACTOR IS A SMALL INDEPENDENT COMPANY.
YOU WOULD LIKE TO BID ON THE PROJECT, BUT HE WANTS TO DO BROAD NON-PROPRIETARY EQUIPMENT.
ASSURES US HAS BEEN HIGHER THAN EVERYBODY ELSE BECAUSE HE USES NON-PROPRIETARY EQUIPMENT, BUT HE SAYS ANYBODY CAN WORK ON IT.
AND SO WE'LL HAVE TO MAKE THAT CALCULATION.
ONCE WE SEE THE VARIOUS PROPOSALS, BUT IT IS MY INTENTION TO ASK EVERYONE TO FIT FOR NON-PROPRIETARY PATIENTS HERE PAY TO BE LOCKED IN TO SOMETHING THAT PEOPLE MISS OUT ON THAT, UM, THAT, UM, CHARTER THE BARREL MANY TIMES AND WITH SOFTWARE COMPUTERS, AND WE JUST GET KILLED EVERY TIME YOU WANT ME TO SLIDE IS JANIE.
SO IT IS MY HOPE TO GET LEADING COMPANIES WE'RE NOT MONITORING AND STUFF LIKE THAT.
WE'D LIKE TO ASK YOUR AUTHORITY TO ISSUE AN RFP, JUST GET THIS PROCESS.
I THINK YOU NEGLECTED TO SAY WHY IT'S CRITICAL THAT WE START TAKING ACTION ON OUR ELEVATORS.
I THINK I'VE MENTIONED THAT THE INSPECTORS ARE NOT GOING TO APPROVE, AND I DID NOT GIVE YOU THE TIME JUNE.
WE HAVE TO GET THEM THERE, THEIR REQUEST THAT WE AT LEAST ONE ANNUAL INSPECTION.
SO THAT'S THE, THAT'S OUR TIMEFRAME
[00:40:01]
THAT WE'RE WORKING ON.MAY I ASK A QUESTION NOW? AND IF IT'S NOT A QUESTION THAT CAN BE ANSWERED, PROBABLY I'M FINE, BUT A LITTLE BIT TO MAYOR DALEY ONS IS A PREVIOUS OWNER RESPONSIBLE AT ALL FOR THIS.
WE HAVE, WE HAVE INCLUDED A LOT OF THE CHARTERS FOR THE ELEVATORS IN THIS AS WELL.
THEIR RESPONSES THAT HIS RESPONSES DEFENSE WILL BE.
YOU TOOK IT AS IS WHERE IS OUR RESPONSE WILL BE, IT'S AN UNDISCLOSED DEFECT.
UM, WE WERE TALKING ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT THE LAST TRIAL OR SETTLEMENT.
THAT'S WHAT SETTLEMENTS ARE NOW, YOU KNOW? ALL RIGHT.
SO I'VE GOT A MOTION BY MAYOR WILLIAMS OF SECOND BY MERRICK DENNIS, AND HE DISCUSSED.
SO THIS IS GOING TO BE NON PROPRIETARY.
NAH, THAT'S WHAT HE'S HIS GOAL IS.
AND THEN WE'LL HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE WHAT THE ART, WHAT THE PROPOSALS COME BACK.
WHAT'S SUPPOSED IN THE LANDLINE.
WELL, HE'S HE, HIS GOAL IS TO RELEASE IT WITH NOT REQUIRING NON-PROPRIETARY EQUIPMENT.
SORRY, I DIDN'T QUITE HEAR, BUT WE'RE GOING TO BE ASKING YOU TO REQUEST YOU PROVISION ROBOT NON-PROPRIETARY EQUIPMENT, AND THEN LET'S SEE WHAT THEY COME DOWN IN A SITUATION WHERE HE GETS VERY CUBITS ARE NOT PROPRIETARY EQUIPMENT.
SO IT'S JUST GETTING, HE'S GOT TO PLAY BY EAR.
JUDGE EVANS IS ASKING IF WE COULD RELEASE IT BOTH WAYS.
THEY ASK FOR A PREFERENCE OR BECAUSE I THINK, YOU KNOW, THE BUYERS, THEY WANT YOU TO USE THEIR WEAPONS AND THEY'RE ALL GOING TO TELL YOU.
I SHOULDN'T SAY I NEGLECTED TO MENTION THAT WE DID SOLICIT SOME BITS LAST YEAR WHEN WE RAN INTO THIS PROBLEM WITH IN APRIL.
SO SEVERAL OF THE COMPANIES CAME BACK USING THEIR REQUEST.
THEY WANT TO TELL YOU HOW GOOD IT IS.
AND IT'S ABOUT, I THINK WHAT JUDGE EVANS IS SUGGESTING IS THAT IN OUR RFP, WE ALLOW THEM TO RESPOND BOTH OR DUE TO TWO RFPS.
ONE OF THE OTHER WAY WE CAN COMPARE BECAUSE WE KNOW THEY'RE GOING TO BE BOTH.
THAT'S WHAT WE'LL DO ANY MORE, ANY MORE COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS? NO, NO ELEVATORS, ANY OPPOSED STAIRS.
I HOPE THE RECORDING PICKS IT OUT OF THE ELEVATOR.
WORKS JUST FINE FOR THE MOMENT.
ONE ELEMENT OF THE DAY STILL HAS THE IRON DOOR THAT CLOSES.

[14. Consider and act on the recommendation to authorize the Executive Director to apply for and accept grant funding from the Texas Council on Developmental Disabilities for New Initiatives funding in the amount of $400,000.00. This item will require a budget amendment - Jacob Ulczynski]
ANY OPPOSED MOTION CARRIES ITEM NUMBER 14, CONSIDERED AN ACT UPON THE RECOMMENDATION TO AUTHORIZE THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT GRANT FUNDING FROM THE TEXAS COUNCIL ON DEVELOPMENT, DEAF DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES FOR NEW INITIATIVES FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $400,000.THIS ITEM WILL ALSO REQUIRE A BUDGET AMENDMENT, JACOB.
UH, SO THIS GRANT IS FROM TEXAS COUNCIL BIRD EVOLVABLE DISABILITIES AS MENTIONED, UH, AND OUR INTENT, UH, THESE FUNDS, UH, TO HIRE A PHYSICIAN THAT WORKS IN COORDINATES CLOSELY DISTRICTS, UH, CURRENTLY IS YOURS ALREADY DO A LOT OF DIAGNOSIS AND IDENTIFICATION OF FOLKS WITH DISABILITIES THROUGH THE SPECIAL EDUCATION PROCESS.
SO THERE'S NOT ALWAYS A VERY SOLID UPLOAD WITH REFERRALS FROM THE SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS TO A IN ORDER TO PREVENT THOSE
[00:50:02]
LONG-TERM SERVICES AND SUPPORTS.UH, AS WE'VE TALKED BEFORE, UH, WITH, UH, THE BOARD IS IMPORTANT FOR THE, THAT LOCAL GIRLS WHO ARE CONSIDERING THE LONG WAIT LISTS, ADVOCATE, LABOR PROGRAMS, AND VANUATU AND ACCESS THOSE LONG-TERM SERVICES AND SUPPORTS IN A TIMELY MANNER.
SO THIS POSITION WITH REALLY WORKING CLOSELY WITH THE, AND CALLING TO MAKE SURE THAT THOSE WERE GIRLS ARE COMING TO US, UH, SMOOTHLY AS WELL AS BEING A RESOURCE THAT HAS HAD ART LIAISE AND HELP ADVOCATE ON BEHALF OF FAMILIES THAT ARE NOT CURRENTLY BEING SERVED THROUGH OUR EXISTING FUNDING DISPERSES.
UM, THE FUNDING IS A HUNDRED THOUSAND PER YEAR FOR UP.
SO COORDINATORS, THANK YOU, JACOB.
I'LL ENTERTAIN A MOTION, MOTION, AND SECOND, UM, ANY DISCUSSION OR QUESTIONS? YES.
I SHOULD SPECIFY THIS WOULD APPLY JUST FOR BEAR US SINCE WE ARE THE LOCAL IDEA.
UM, AND, UH, CERTAINLY, YOU KNOW, ANY OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS, UH, ON WITHOUT FOR LAB INTO OUR NEIGHBORING COUNTIES.
AND SO WE COORDINATE CLOSELY WITH THE, UH, THE LIST OF THOSE COUNTIES AS WELL, TO MAKE SURE THAT ANY REFERRALS ARE GETTING TO THE INCORRECT LOCAL.
UM, YES, I BELIEVE THERE IS IN-CLASS ANY OTHER QUESTIONS? YES.
UM, HOW DO YOU INTEND TO CONNECT WITH FAMILY WHO WOULD BE DIRECTLY TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS TO THE SPECIAL ED COORDINATOR? OR HOW, HOW WOULD YOU, HOW DO YOU PLAN TO CONNECT WITH FAMILIES? ARE YOU PLANNING TO DO IT THROUGH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF THE SPECIAL EDUCATION COORDINATOR OR YES, WE WERE PLANNING TO CONNECT WITH THE FAMILIES THROUGH THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS, UM, SINCE THEY ARE ALREADY DOING THAT IDENTIFICATION, UM, THEY'RE GOING THROUGH OUR, OUR BEST CONNECTION TO, UH, HELP IDENTIFY WHICH FAMILIES REALLY NEED TO BE CONNECTED OVER TO US AND BE ABLE TO ADVOCATE FOR A FOUR YEAR PERIOD.
ANY OTHER QUESTIONS, COMMENTS HEARING NONE.
ALL IN FAVOR, ANY OPPOSED MOTION CARRIES.
[15. Consider and act upon the recommendation to authorize the Executive Director to release a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Aging Services and execute contracts with selected contractors. This item does not require a budget amendment.- Jo Ann Tobias-Molina]
THANK YOU, JACOB.UH, I REMEMBER 15 CONSIDERED AN ACT UPON RECOMMENDATION TO AUTHORIZE THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO RELEASE A REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR AGING SERVICES AND TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS WITH SELECTED CONTRACTORS.
THIS ITEM DOES NOT REQUIRE A BUDGET AMENDMENT, UH, MS. TOBIAS MOLINA.
GOOD MORNING, MR. CHAIR MEMBERS OF THE BOARD, BUT THIS MORNING AS MENTIONED BY MS. FRANCE AND HER EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR REPORT, THE AGING DEPARTMENT IS COMING BEFORE YOU TODAY, AS WE SEARCH AND IS NEED OF ADDITIONAL VENDORS TO PROVIDE SERVICES TO OLDER ADULTS IN BOTH THERE AND THE SURROUNDING COUNTIES.
SO WE REALLY QUESTIONED YOUR GOOGLE TO AUTHORIZE OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, TO RELEASE THE REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS AND TO EXECUTE THOSE SET OF CONTRACTS WITH THE SELECTED CONTRACTORS.
OUR INITIAL CONTRACT WILL BE FOR EACH TWO YEAR PERIOD WITH THREE OPTIONAL ONE-YEAR EXTENSIONS CONTINGENT UPON OF COURSE, CONTRACTOR PERFORMANCE FUNDING AND AYCOCK APPROVAL.
SO WE DO NOT ANTICIPATE THAT THIS ITEM WILL REQUIRE A BUDGET AMENDMENT, AND WE ARE REQUESTING YOUR APPROVAL TO LEASE THE RFQ AND EXECUTE THOSE SAID CONTRACTS.
ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THE SERVICES AVAILABLE OR THEY ARE IN ACUTE MAYOR.
DELYON MOVED TO APPROVE A SECOND BY MARY WILLIAMS AND DISCUSSION HEARING NONE ALL IN FAVOR.
THANK YOU, MS. MOLINA, UH, ITEM NUMBER 17, CONSIDERED AN ACT UPON RECOMMENDATION TO AUTHORIZE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY AFFAIRS THROUGH THE 2022 LOW INCOME HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM AND AN ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $1.4 MILLION.
THIS ITEM DOES NOT REQUIRE A BUDGET AMENDMENT.
OF COURSE, YOU GUYS GOT TO HOLLER AT ME AT ALL BY GOLLY.
[16. Consider and act upon the recommendation to adopt a Resolution to recognize the month of March as the 50th Anniversary of the National Senior Nutrition Program in the AACOG Region. - Jo Ann Tobias-Molina]
TO ME.[00:55:01]
CONSIDER AN ACT UPON THE RECOMMENDATION TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION TO RECOGNIZE THE MONTH OF MARCH AS THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE NATIONAL SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAM IN THE AYCOCK RAGE.SO THE MONTH OF MARCH IS KNOWN NATIONALLY AS NATIONAL SENIOR NUTRITION.
UM, AND WE ARE ASKING YOUR APPROVAL TO HAVE A RESOLUTION PROMOTED IN THE APPLE AND BEAR AREA TO HAVE THE GENE TO CELEBRATE THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE NATIONAL SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAM.
THE NATIONAL SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAM HAS POSITIVELY IMPACTED BOTH THE ALBUM.
THERE IS ON AGING BY SERVING OLDER ADULTS OVER THE LAST 12 YEARS, DELIVERING OVER 90,000 HOME DELIVERED MEALS, SERVING OVER 123,000 MEALS IN A CONGREGATE SETTING AND EDUCATED OVER 70,000 OLDER ADULTS IN NUTRITION COUNSELING.
SO THIS ITEM DOES NOT REQUIRE A BUDGET AND WE RECOMMEND THE APPROVAL OF THE RESOLUTION AS PRESENTED AND THE RECOGNITION OF THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAM.
ALL RIGHT, I'LL ENTERTAIN A MOTION TO APPROVE THAT.
JUDGE JACKSON MOVED TO APPROVE SECOND BY JUDGE EVANS AND IT DISCUSSION.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY ACTIVITIES THAT YOUR PLAN WITH? OKAY.
I BELIEVE I HEARD WHAT THE QUESTION WAS.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY ACTIVITIES THAT ARE GOING TO BE HOUSED SPECIFICALLY IN OUR REGION, WE WILL BE HAPPY TO TALK WITH THE CITY OF SAN ANTONIO ON MARCH 1ST, AND THAT WILL BE HELD AT THE SOUTH SIDE LIONS CLUB AT PARKS, EXCUSE ME.
AND WE ARE INVITED TO ATTEND AND PARTICIPATE TO THE CITY'S ANNOUNCEMENTS.
IN ADDITION, WE ARE HIGHLIGHTING SCENARIOS AND STORIES OF SOME OF OUR RECIPIENTS THAT HAVE PARTICIPATED IN THE NUTRITION PROGRAM EITHER BY A COOPERATIVE MEAL OR A MEAL, OR EVEN THE NUTRITION COUNSELING.
AND SO WE'RE HIGHLIGHTING A COUPLE OF OTHER STORIES THAT WE'RE GOING TO PROMOTE THROUGH OUR SOCIAL MEDIA PLAN.
I WONDER AS WELL AS OTHER VENUES HAVING THE, ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE KNOW ABOUT THE NUTRITION PROGRAM IS THAT IT NOT ONLY EATS THE PERSON'S PHYSICAL HEALTH, BUT IT ALSO FEEDS VERY EMOTIONAL AND SOCIAL LEVEL BECAUSE IT COMBATS THE SOCIAL ISOLATION.
AND SO WE KNOW WE'RE VERY EXCITED ABOUT THE CONGREGATE MEAL SITES OPENING BACK UP IN BEAR COUNTY.
WE KNOW THAT CENTERS OUT IN THE ALAMO AREA HAVE BEEN OPEN THROUGHOUT THE PANDEMIC, SO WE KNOW THEY ARE ACTIVE AND WE'RE GOING TO HIGHLIGHT SOME EVENTS AND PARTICIPATE WITH THE SENIOR CENTERS AS REQUESTED.
SO WE WILL BE DOING SOME PRESENTATIONS.
ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS HEARING? NONE.
[17. Consider and act upon the recommendation to authorize the Executive Director to execute a contract with the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) for the 2022 Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) in the estimated amount of $1.4 million. This item will not require a budget amendment. -- Alicia Ávila-Peñalver]
YOU SO MUCH.I DON'T THINK I NEED TO READ IT IN THE RECORD AGAIN.
CLOSER TO THE MICROPHONE ORIGINALLY BECAUSE OF THAT, THE CALL SCREEN WOULD BE $10,000.
YOU WOULD INCREASE 11,000 IS WHAT YOU ORIGINALLY PROJECTED, EVEN ASSISTANCE.
WE ASKED THAT THE $4, RIGHT? AND THIS IS COMMUNITY CARE IN UNITED ONES WITH YOU.
AND THE KNOWLEDGE IS ITEM WILL NOT REQUIRE 1.3 OR 1.4, FOUR WILL BE ONE WAY.
ALL RIGHT, I'LL ENTERTAIN A MOTION TO APPROVE MOTION, BUM LOCKER SECOND BY JUDGE EVANS.
AND IN DISCUSSION CLARIFYING QUESTION, I COULDN'T TELL BY THE WAY IT'S WRITTEN.
SO THIS IS MONEY WHERE WE'RE SLEEPING.
ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS HEARING? NONE.
[18. Annual Training for Local Intellectual and Development Disabilities Authority (LIDDA) Board members. - Jacob Ulczynski]
ALRIGHT.ALL ITEM NUMBER 18 ANNUAL TRAINING FOR LOCAL END OF INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES AUTHORITY LETTER BOARD FOR BOARD MEMBERS THAT GO RIGHT.
WE'VE GOT THIS DOWN TO WHAT, THREE HOURS, RIGHT? WHAT DID WE TRY TO KEEP IT SHORT FOR YOU? AND THAT'S ALL RIGHT.
[01:00:01]
THIS IS AN ANNUAL TRAINING OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.UH, THAT'D BE PROVIDED TO YOU.
UH, I REALIZED THAT, UH, SOME OF OUR MEMBERS ALSO RECEIVED THIS TRAINING COMMUNITY CENTERS.
SO WE WILL TRY TO KEEP THIS, UH, BRIEF, HOPEFULLY INFORMATIVE.
UH, SO WE HAVE SOME BRIEF ACRONYMS FOR YOU.
SO THE POPULATION WE SERVE, UM, DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES, AND THAT REALLY IS A BROAD CATEGORY THAT CONSISTS OF A COUPLE OF SMALLER PUNDITS.
UH, SO OUR FIRST THOUGHT IS REALLY INDIVIDUALS THAT HAVE BEEN LAUGHABLE DISABILITIES.
SO THEY'RE BOTH THAT STRUGGLE WITH CONCEPTUALIZING KNOWLEDGE AND INFORMATION, UM, STRUGGLING, SOCIAL SKILLS, STRUGGLE WITH PRACTICAL SELF-MANAGEMENT AND ACTIVITIES LIKE ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING.
UH, AND, UH, CLINICALLY THIS PRESENTS WITH A DEPRESSED ITEMS. SO WE'RE REALLY TALKING ABOUT INDIVIDUALS THAT HAVE AN IQ OF 69 OR LESS BEING ELIGIBLE FOR, UH, PUBLICLY BOTHERED SERVICES.
UM, ANYTHING ABOVE THE, A IQ OF 69, UH, S UH, 70 OR ABOVE IS CONSIDERED OVERLINE INTELLECTUAL FUNCTIONING, AND UNFORTUNATELY INDIVIDUALS IN THE BORDERLINE RANGE DO NOT QUALIFY FOR ANY SORT OF SAFE LONDON SERVICES.
UM, LOOKING AT THOSE IQ SCORES, UM, PROBABLY 80% OF ALL INDIVIDUALS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY ARE GONNA FALL IN YOUR MILD OR MODERATE RANGE OF INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY.
SO THESE ARE FOLKS THAT ARE PERFECTLY FUNCTIONAL LIVE IN, UH, SHOPPING TO MOVIE THEATERS, AND MAY NEED SOME SUPPORTS AND GETTING ON THEIR, THEIR FUNCTIONAL ABILITIES AND NEEDS, UM, THAT THEY ARE CAPABLE OF.
UM, JUST LIKE THE REST OF US IN A COMMUNITY.
ONCE YOU GET TO A SEVERE DISABILITY OR INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY, THESE ARE A NEUTRAL SENSE AND TO BE MUCH MORE DIRECT ASSISTANCE, UM, OR TOTAL HAIR, UH, IS THIS A BURDEN OR, UM, SO THEY'RE REALLY NEEDING, UM, SIGNIFICANT HELP TO JUST THEIR DAILY LIFE.
NEXT SLIDE, WE ALSO THEN HAVE DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES.
UM, DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES ARE A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT THAN AN INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY.
IT'S ACTUALLY A BROADER CATEGORY.
SO AN INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY, UH, HAS TO BE DIAGNOSED.
UM, WE HAVE TO GET IN FROM THE ONSET OF THAT PRIOR TO THE AGE OF 18, I FELT LOVE WITH DISABILITY IN A VARIETY OF WORK PRIOR TO THE AGE OF 22.
UM, AGAIN, MOST PROBLEMS WITH ASIA, LIKE ACTIVITIES LIKE LANGUAGE, MOBILITY SELF-HELP AND LIVING.
UM, AND, UH, WE SEE AN INCREASE, A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES OVER TIME.
A LOT OF THAT HAS TO DO WITH THINGS LIKE THE INCREASING RATES OF AUTISM.
UH, SO SOME EXAMPLES, UM, OF ALL DISABILITIES INCLUDE OFFICE SPECTRUM DISORDER, WHICH I THINK IS PRETTY FAMILIAR WITH, THERE'S BEEN A LOT MORE COVERAGE OF AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER ON MEDIA AND, UH, IN THE NEWS ON TV.
UM, NEXT SLIDE, UH, IT ALSO INCLUDES A WIDE VARIETY OF CONDITIONS THAT WILL MEDICAL IN NATURE BE CALL RELATED CONDITIONS.
AND SO THESE ARE THINGS THAT MAY BE EDIT, UM, GENITAL THINGS LIKE APPLE EPILEPSY, CEREBRAL PALSY SYNDROME, FRAGILE X, MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY.
THERE'S A LONG LIST OF HUNDREDS OF DIFFERENT DIAGNOSES, UH, THAT COULD BE CONSIDERED A RELATED CONDITION.
IF THERE'S A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT.
IT'S USUALLY THE FUNCTIONING OF THE INDIVIDUAL NEXT SLIDE.
SO THERE ARE A WIDE RANGE OF DISEASE INVOLVED.
UM, AND THIS IS ONE OF THOSE AREAS WHERE, UH, THEY KIND OF MAKE SENSE WHEN YOU LOOK AT SLIDE TWO, IT REQUIRES THEM TO PROVIDE YOU THIS INFORMATION.
UH, SO, UH, CENTER FOR MEDICAID, MEDICARE SERVICES IS THE PRIMARY FUNDER OUT LONG-TERM SERVICES AND SUPPORTS, UH, AND THE ADMINISTRATION IS ACTUALLY WHERE A LOT OF THE IDP POLICY ORIGINATES FROM.
UM, SO WHILE THEY'RE BOTH PART OF THE HHS, THEY'RE TWO TOTALLY SEPARATE AND DISTINCT UNITS.
AND SO WE, THERE'S NOT ALWAYS A LOT OF COLLABORATION THERE AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL LOCALLY, OR SORRY AT THE STATE LEVEL, UH, FUNDING INTERNET SERVICES IS THE PUBLIC SERVICES COMMISSION.
AND OF COURSE WE'RE THE LITTLE LIGHT INDIAN AUTHORITY OR BEAR COUNTY
[01:05:01]
SPECIFICALLY.UM, AND HE RELAYED WITH MANY DIFFERENT EVENTS AROUND, UH, AROUND THE COUNTY THAT HELPED MAKE SURE THAT THEY INTEGRATED THE COMMUNITY SUCCESSFULLY.
THAT SLIDE, UH, PROVIDED SOME HISTORICAL CONTEXT OR, UM, I, YOU SERVICES ARE REALLY RELATIVELY RECENT, UH, PRIOR TO THE 1960S INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES LIVE IN MAJOR STATEMENTS DECISIONS.
AND IT WASN'T UNTIL, UH, JFK, UM, CREATED THE SYSTEM OF COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH AND IDD AUTHORITIES OF THAT.
THERE BEGAN TO BE SOME, UH, SERVICES THAT THEY WILL IN THE COMMUNITY.
UH, AND YOU CAN SEE OUR TIME, UH, ON THIS SLIDE, HOW THAT SYSTEM HAS EVOLVED, UH, TO THE POINT WHERE NOW, TODAY, UH, A FOG IS A LITTLE WORDY.
UM, THE APPLICATION WAS ARRESTED BY THE CENTER FOR HEALTHCARE SERVICES BACK INTO ANALYSIS.
SO OUR ROLE IS TO SERVE AS THAT FRONT, BUT WE'RE, UM, AND MINORITY ADVOCATE FOR PUBLICLY FUNDED SERVICES OR THERE.
UH, THE STATE DOES DELEGATE CERTAIN RESPONSIBILITIES TO US, UH, TO PROVIDE THOSE GENERAL REVENUE SAFETY NET SERVICES IN THE CITY, AS WELL AS SERVING AS THE POINT OF IT FOR A WIDE RANGE OF, UM, LIVING TYPES OF PROGRAMS. NEXT SLIDE, WE DO OPERATE WITH A PERSON CENTERED PHILOSOPHY AND TAKING THE INDIVIDUAL'S STRENGTHS AND DESIRES IN MIND AS WE'RE DEVELOPING CARE PLANS FOR THE PERSON.
WE ALSO WORK FOR PICTURE THAT THEY'RE BEING SERVED IN THE LEAST RESTRICTIVE ENVIRONMENT POSSIBLE.
UM, SO WE'RE ALWAYS TRYING TO TRANSITION THEM OUT OF HOSPITAL THAT IS OUT OF THE STATES AND INTO THE COMMUNITY WHEN IT'S POSSIBLE TO SUPPORT THE SUCCESS OF THAT SLIDE.
I'LL GO AHEAD AND MOVE ON SORENESS.
LIKE PLEASE, WE DO WANT TO SHOW YOU HOW COST-EFFECTIVE COMMUNITY BASED SERVICES ARE.
UM, THE HOTLINE ON THE CHART ON THE THAT'S DISPLAYED RIGHT NOW IS FOR SAY OPERATED INTERMEDIATE CARE FACILITY, THAT'S ICF.
UM, AND THAT IS THE STATE-SUPPORTED LIVING CENTERS, UH, SUCH AS OUR STAY IN SAN ANTONIO STATES LIVING CENTER.
THE AVERAGE COST TO SUPPORT A SINGLE INDIVIDUAL.
THERE IS OVER $340,000 A YEAR, UM, WHERE OUR COMMUNITY BASED SERVICES AS YOU NEED NOW, THEY CHARS, UH, WE MOVE INTO, UH, PROGRESSIVELY LESS RESTRICTIVE SETTINGS.
AND SO YOU CAN SEE OUR MOST COST EFFICIENT, UM, SETTINGS TO SERVE INDIVIDUAL, UH, IS WHERE WE'RE ABLE TO KEEP THEM AT HOME IN THEIR OWN HOME, OR WHEN THEY CALL IN AND WRAP SUPPORTS AROUND THEM IN THE COMMUNITY.
SO OUR DIFFERENT SERVICES AND SUPPORTS THAT WE PROVIDE WEAVING PROGRAM ENROLLMENTS FOR NURSING FACILITIES OR INTERMEDIATE CARE FACILITIES, WHICH IS THE EQUIVALENT OF A NURSING FACILITY SETTING, AS WELL AS THE SAFE LIVING CENTER THAT I MENTIONED AND A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMS. AND I WON'T PAY THIS OUT SPECIFICALLY FOR YOU.
OUR MAJOR ROLE IS PROVIDING TARGETED CASE MANAGEMENT THROUGH ALL OF THOSE DIFFERENT PROGRAMS. UH, SO WE HAVE, UH, OVER A HUNDRED, I THINK AT THIS POINT, CLOSE TO OFFERED THROUGH THE DIFFERENT CASE MANAGERS, UH, THAT SERVE FOLKS THROUGHOUT BEAR COUNTY, UH, INTERACTED WITH THEM ON A MONTHLY BASIS.
UH, FACE-TO-FACE VIA TELEHEALTH AND, UH, BY PHONE TO HELP MAKE SURE AND MONITOR THEIR SERVICES, MAKE SURE THEIR NEEDS ARE BEING THAT THEY'RE BEING SUPPORTED SUCCESSFUL COMMUNITY.
WE ALSO PROVIDE BENEFITS ASSISTANCE TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY'RE CONNECTED WITH A RESOURCE LIKE MEDICAID THAT CAN PAY FOR THEIR SERVICES, UH, THAT HELP KEEP THEM LIVING IN THE COMMUNITY.
UM, WE ALSO DO CRISIS INTERVENTION.
SO WE WORK CLOSELY WITH THE CENTER FOR HEALTHCARE SERVICES, WITH OUR LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENTS AND EMERGENCY SERVICES TO MAKE SURE WE'RE ABLE TO ADDRESS INDIVIDUALS THAT ARE HAVING BEHAVIORAL NEEDS RESULTING IN PRICES AND INSTABILITY FOR THEMSELVES OR THEIR FAMILIES.
AND I SLOT MOVE ON TO THE NEXT SLIDE WHERE YOU HAVE THE INFORMATION BEFORE BIRTH.
UM, SO WE DO OFFER SERVICES, UM, THAT IS A PSYCHOLOGIST THAT MEETS WITH THE INDIVIDUALS.
THAT'S A PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT I USE FOR INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY THAT I MENTIONED EARLIER, AS WELL AS WE ARE, UH, ADDITIONAL MEDICAL COLLATERAL TO SUPPORT THEM WITH QUESTIONS.
[01:10:01]
WAIT FOR YOU? UM, IF YOU DON'T MIND HOLDING THE QUESTIONS JUST THROUGH THE SLIDES, AND I'M HAPPY TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION.SO IT'S ALWAYS WARM ON ANYWAY.
UM, I DO WANT TO TALK SPECIFICALLY ABOUT COMMUNITY.
FIRST CHOICES CREATED A NEW FLOOR FOR SERVICES.
UM, WENT INTO A FACT ABOUT BIKE SEVEN YEARS AGO NOW.
UM, AND, UH, PRIORS ARE THAT, UH, OUR GENERAL REVENUE SAFETY NET, UH, WE JUST VERY LIMITED RESOURCE WAS REALLY THE ONLY SERVICE AVAILABLE IN INJURIES THAT WERE NOT IN THE MEDICAID WAIVER PROGRAMS, FIRST CHOICE, UH, CREATED CARE.
UM, AND, UM, LIKE IN WHAT WORDS, ANYWAYS, THEY CREATED AN OPTION FOR, OR A MUCH LARGER GROUP POST CARE SERVICES IN THEIR HOME, UM, AND PROVIDED AN ADDITIONAL LEVEL OF SUPPORT FOR THAT NEXT SLIDE.
OUR GENERAL REVENUE SAY THAT PROGRAM, UH, AS I MENTIONED, IS A LIMITED RESOURCE.
UH, WE DID, UM, JUST, UH, $3 MILLION FROM AN AGENT JESSE TO DO ALL THE PROGRAMMING ADMINISTRATION, THE REC SERVICES AND OTHER GENERAL BATON SAFE, AS WELL AS EVERYTHING ELSE THAT WE DO.
UM, AND ABOUT A THIRD OF THAT, WE'RE ABLE TO DIRECT SPECIFIC VERSION, OR WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO THAT PROGRAM? SO THAT'S ABOUT A MILLION THAT'S GOING THROUGH BRADLEY TO, UM, SERVICES IN THE COMMUNITY.
UM, THE, THAT SORT OF SURVEY IS AND HAVE TO, UH, 3,500 PER ADULT AND 2000 PER CHILD, BUT YET HE HAD THAT, UH, THE SCHOOL DISTRICT.
SO THIS IS OUR PRIMARY SEAT FOR SUPPORTING THE CHILD WRAP AROUND SERVICES THAT TAKE PLACE OUTSIDE OF THIS NEXT SLIDE.
UM, WE DID GO INTO SOME OF THE SPECIFIC SERVICES THAT ARE AVAILABLE, UM, AND I CAN TALK MORE ABOUT SPECIFIC SERVICES AS YOU ALL HAVE QUESTIONS.
NEXT SLIDE, TEXAS HOME LIVING IS ONE OF THE MEDICAID WAIVER PROGRAMS, UM, WITH A COST CAP OF ABOUT $70,000.
AND OUR, UH, ONE MORE SLIDE, PLEASE.
OUR NEXT MEETING BASED SERVICES PROGRAM IS THE LARGEST MEDICAID WAIVER SERVICES, AND SHE WILL DIRECT TO THE PEOPLES WITH IBD, UM, AND, AND AN AVERAGE, UH, SERVICE PLAN IN ACS AND ALSO PROBABLY EUROPE.
THAT'S, ALL MEDICAID, UM, WAS MENTIONED IS THAT IN OUR SERVICES, UM, WE'RE ABLE TO SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS BY PROVIDING RESPITE BY PROVIDING, UH, DATA LOCATION ACTIVITIES, UM, AND IT'S, UH, REALLY TRYING TO MEET THEIR NEEDS.
UM, WE ALSO HAVE ALREADY PROVIDED ONE OF THE SUPPORTS THAT BEHAVIORAL SUPPORTS, UH, I WON'T GO THROUGH THE REST OF THE SLIDES THAT ARE THERE, YOUR GRANDPARENTS, BUT I'M HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS.
YOU KIND OF MENTIONED THAT YOU COORDINATE WITH SOME OF THE OTHER IDD IS JUST VERY CHAOTIC, BUT YEAH, THE WHOLE COUNTRY PROBABLY HAS 10 OF THE OTHER COUNTIES WITHIN A CAR.
I THINK, FEW OTHER, CAN YOU EXPAND ON HOW DO YOU COORDINATE WITH THEM, OBVIOUSLY THE MONEY THAT CAN FLOW FROM YOU WOULD HOPE TO GET THAT FUNDING OR DOES IT COME TO THAT SO THAT, UH, OR HILL COUNTRY OR FIELD OR ON THE TRAIL? SO, UH, THE OTHER GREEK COMMUNITIES AND THOSE THAT COVER, AND THEY, UH, THEY CONTRACT DIRECTLY WITH THE HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMISSION AND THEIR FUNDING COMES DOWN FROM HUMAN SERVICES, SERVICES.
UM, AND AS INDIVIDUALS MOVE, UH, FROM ONE TO ANOTHER, WE WEREN'T ABLE TO TRANSFER THOSE CARE PLANS.
SORRY, WHAT KIND OF RELATIONSHIP DO YOU HAVE WITH CHCS? I'M SORRY, THEY'LL BE OUR FROM CENTER FOR HEALTHCARE SERVICES, MENTAL HEALTH AUTHORITY, RIGHT.
SO, ET CETERA, OFF YOUR SERVICES, UH, AS MENTIONED IS, UH, MENTAL HEALTH ALREADY WITH ERIC COUNTY.
UH, WE COORDINATE CLOSELY WITH THEM TO GET INTO THE CO-OCCURRING DIAGNOSES OF ALL HEALTH DISORDER, UH, INTO, UM, UH, PSYCHIATRIC SERVICES.
SO THEY CAN HAVE MEDICATION MANAGEMENT GROUP, THE PSYCHIATRIST WITH THE CENTER OF HER UNDER.
SO THIS IS OF ANY OF THOSE PATIENTS IN, UH, PATIENTS IN DEPTH WITH THE CENTER SCHOOL DIAGNOSIS PROGRAM.
UM, AND THEN WE ALSO COORDINATE MOSTLY IN REGARDS TO THE SERVICES.
UM, SO WE PULLED INTO THE CENTER AS WELL AS WHICH STRAP ON, UM, THE
[01:15:01]
CRISIS ARRAY HERE ARE NOW ABLE TO, UM, ADDRESS THE PRICES, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER IT HAS AN ECSTASY BEHAVIORS OR ON A HOME DISORDER.IT'S ARE YOU ABLE TO GET THE RESOURCES FOR THOSE INDIVIDUALS OR IS THERE A LONG WAITING TIME OR, UM, WE'VE BEEN ABLE TO SET UP WITH THE CENTER, RIGHT? APPRECIATE THEIR PARTNERSHIP WITH SETTING UP A BUSINESS SPECIFIC RURAL SOURCE FOR GETTING IN TO THE PSYCHIATRIC SERVICES WITH THAT SAID, THAT'S A VERY LIMITED RESOURCE.
THERE'S NOT ENOUGH SITE , UM, AND, UH, UH, PRACTITIONERS THAT ARE COMFORTABLE WORKING WITH IDP.
UH, SO WE REACH OUT TO OTHER PSYCHIATRISTS AND OTHER GROUPS AS WELL TO TRY TO ACCESS PSYCHIATRIC SERVICES, BUT THAT DOES MEAN TO YOU OR PSYCHIATRISTS THAT ARE WILLING TO WORK WITH THE ITT POPULATION.
IS THIS A AVAILABLE TO MILITARY DEPENDENTS IN THE TEXAS SCHOOL SYSTEM? AND IF I CAN JUST INTERJECT, WE HAVE TRIED FOR YEARS TO BRING THE TWO SYSTEMS MUCH MORE CLOSELY TOGETHER.
SO WE WOULD WELCOME ANY ASSISTANCE BECAUSE WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL MEETINGS AND IN THE MILITARY, THEY'RE VERY WELL CARED FOR IN, BUT AS WE'VE URGED THEM, IF THERE'S ANYBODY WHO HAS ANY REMOTE THOUGHT THAT THEY MIGHT SOMEDAY RETURN, UH, THEY NEED TO GET ON THE WAITING LIST NOW.
AND FOR A WHILE IN OUR ADVISORY COMMITTEE, WE HAD A TCS, UH, DEPUTY COMMANDER'S WIFE, UH, CAUSE THEY HAD AN IMPACTED CHILD, UH, WAS ON UNTIL HE RETIRED.
AND IT WAS WONDERFUL WHEN SHE WAS THERE, BUT WE REALLY WORK HARD TO TIGHTEN THAT.
AND IT'S, IT'S AN ONGOING CHALLENGE, I THINK, TO GET THE INFORMATION OUT BECAUSE THEIR NEEDS ARE SO PROVIDED WHILE THEY'RE IN, BUT LOOKING TOWARDS THE FUTURE IT'S, UH, YOU'RE, YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT.
DIANE AND I THINK THERE'S A REAL GAP BETWEEN THE INITIAL IDENTIFICATION AND DIAGNOSIS.
THOSE MILITARY BENEFITS WOULD EVEN KICK IN WHICH TYPICALLY HAPPENS IN THE TEXAS SCHOOL SYSTEM.
SO WE DO HAVE REPRESENTATIVES OF OUR PROGRAM THAT ARE ON OUR ADVISORY COMMITTEE.
UM, WE ALSO HAVE REGULAR REGULAR CONTACT WITH THE, THE SPECIAL EDUCATION LIAISON, UM, WITH YOUR LISTENERS.
UM, SO, UH, BUT WE ALWAYS HAVE THAT RELATIONSHIP AND MAKE SURE THAT THESE ARE THANK YOU, JACOB.
ARE THERE ANY, ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS DO IT AGAIN? ABSOLUTELY.
FOR JUDGE SHEWHART WE NEED TO DO IT AGAIN.
[19. Next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at AACOG.]
RIGHT.UH, MOVING ON TO ITEM NUMBER 19, NEXT MEETING IS SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY, MARCH 23RD, 2022 AT 10:00 AM.
A REMINDER THAT WE'VE GOT OTHER MEETINGS THAT WE'VE GOT AREAS, JUDGES, AND 9 1, 1 MEETING LOOKS LIKE AFTER THIS.
